London Country Area 3: South West
Description
In his third volume of his photos looking at different parts of the former London Transport Country Area, Jim Blake covers the south-western portion. Once again, many of the pictures have never been published before. Covering as they do the 1960s and 1970s, they are again full of nostalgia, showing much else besides the buses and coaches which were their original subjects. Owing to a plethora of low railway bridges in the Guildford, Staines and Woking area, the south west was the last part of the Country Area to retain the antiquated-looking RLH class lowbridge double-deckers, many of which appear in these pages.
